GYMNASTICS - (Grades 3 - 5 coed)
Days: Wednesdays and Thursdays
Dates: March 1, 7, 8, 14, 15, 21, 22, 28 (snow date, March 29)
Time: 5:30– 6:30 p.m.

Flip into spring this year with this exciting gymnastics program. This introductory program will teach boys and girls the basic skills of gymnastics. We will focus on coordination, flexibility and safety. Participants will learn basic skills to develop a good foundation in gymnastics including: Floor Exercise, balance beam, bars, rings and vault. For comfort and safety, girls should wear leotards and boys should wear shorts and a t-shirt that can be tucked in. Buckles, snaps or zippers are not allowed.
Limited enrollment - Registration deadline is Friday, February 17 and/or when program is full.

VALENTINE PRESENTS AND TREATS!

Description: In this class, children will have an enjoyable afternoon while making a variety of handmade Valentine’s Day gifts and treats! Limited enrollment.

BALLOON SCULPTURING WORKSHOP

Description: Participants will learn how to make various shapes with balloons such as a dog, giraffe and even a hat! Everyone will go home with all balloon shapes that they have created. Limited enrollment.

Description: Play with clay and paint some ceramics! Participants will learn the
coil technique while making pots or baskets. Explore the art of mosaics and
make a clay tile while learning about different clays. Art explorers might also
paint a mini ceramic box. Limited enrollment.

CREATIVE CREATURES (with Let’s Gogh Art)

Description: Reduce, reuse, recycle. Choosing from our huge supply of recycled materials (tubes, clay, yarn, ribbons, buttons, fabrics and lots of bling), art explorers will glue, tape and build crazy creative creatures…the ideas are limited only by the imagination! Limited enrollment.

LEGO ENGINEERING FUNDAMENTALS – (Grades 3 - 5)

Description: Let your imagination run wild with over 100,000 pieces of LEGO®! Build engineer designed projects such as boats, bridges, mazes and motorized cars. Explore the endless creative possibilities of the LEGO® building system with the guidance of an experienced Play-Well instructor. Limited enrollment.

LEGO BATTLE TRACK DAY – (Grades 3 - 5)

Description: Come test your creative engineering skills on the infamous Battle Track! This project involves vehicles "jousting" on a monorail track. Students build vehicles which ride on the monorail and add mechanisms to knock their opponent off the track! This is a fun-filled, competitive engineering challenge! Limited enrollment.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION
All registrations and payment for programs must be received in advance at the Parks and Recreation Office, 230C Mountain Road. Make checks payable to the SUFFIELD PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT. There will be a fee of $10.00 for checks returned by the bank for non-payment. For payments made in cash, we request exact change.
For payments that are mailed in, we recommend you call the office to verify receipt. A mail box is located outside the building for after hours drop off for those customers who need to conduct business before or after our scheduled office hours.
Programs are for Suffield residents and for certain programs, non-residents. Non-resident registration will be accepted at an additional fee. Suffield residents will receive first priority in the registration process. Non-residents may submit payment and registration form and will be accepted on a space available basis, first paid, first served. Children must be of the correct age or corresponding grade level to participate in programs. Special considerations may be made for children on a case by case situation. Programs have limited enrollment. The Department reserves the right to set a maximum for each program and to cancel a program due to insufficient enrollment. No unregistered person may attend a program. Your early registration helps us make the decision to run the program.
REFUND POLICY
ALL PROGRAMS ARE BASED ON A LIMITED ENROLLMENT – EITHER DEADLINE DATE OR WHEN PROGRAM IS FULL – Please register early to ensure that you have a spot and that the programs are not canceled. If the Parks & Recreation Office is notified 7 business days prior to the start of the program, all but 25% of the program fee will be refunded. For sports and camps refer to registration form for specific refund policy, for trips refer to trip information. No refunds once program starts. We reserve the right to cancel or consolidate programs based on registrations. Full refunds are given for any canceled programs.
