FALL SOCCER
DATES: Saturdays, August 28 through October 30 RAIN DATE: November 6.
No practice on Saturday, September 4 or September 11.
TIMES: Rotating schedule between 8:45 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
LOCATIONS: Bruce Park, Spaulding Field, and Sullivan Fields.
In case of inclement weather, call the Suffield Parks & Recreation Department after 4:30 p.m. weekdays and after 7:30 a.m. on Saturdays to determine if program is cancelled.

K, 1st and 2nd Grade: Practices: Week nights & Saturday, August 28, September 18 and 25. Games begin Saturday, Oct. 2.
3rd – 8th Grade: Practices: Week nights & Saturday, August 28 and September 18. Games begin Saturday, Sept. 25.
Saturday practices are scheduled to give coaches more time to teach skills and fundamentals.
KICK OFF THE SEASON CLINIC”: SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 18, 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.
LOCATIONS: Bruce Park and Sullivan Fields
North American Soccer Camps will be hosting a special "hands-on" clinic and practice designed to give coaches drills and techniques to "kick off" the soccer season.
EQUIPMENT: Players must have shinguards. Players should bring their own soccer ball to practice. Sneakers or cleats should be worn. For grades 3 – 8, cleats are recommended.
Ball Size: Grade K = #3; Grades 1 & 2 = #3; Grades 3 & 4 = #4; Grades 5 - 8 = #5
JEWELRY: For your child’s safety and safety of others, Jewelry is not allowed.
PRACTICES, TEAMS & PHILOSOPHY
Week night practice schedule will be at discretion of the volunteer coach.
Due to the large number of participants, we will not be able to accommodate special requests.
Team placement will be random and final.
Parents will be receiving a call from their Coach after the August 23 Coaches Meeting informing them of their child’s practice night.
Silent Sidelines Day, Saturday, October 16. Coaches will be permitted to give players direction from the sidelines. Spectators will be directed to refrain from making any comments to players, coaches or referees, but are encouraged to applaud efforts by players.
This program encourages good sportsmanship, there will be no “playing up or down” and no team standings will be kept.
The Department reserves the right to dismiss any child from a program who is disruptive and reserves the right to dismiss any Volunteer Coach who does not follow the governing procedures, policies and philosophy of the Department.
