UPGRADE OUR

EMERGENCY NOTIFICATION

SYSTEM

On September 1, 2009, Connecticut became the first state in the nation to have a statewide emergency notification system. CT Alert ENS allows state and local officials to help protect lives and property by providing critical information to residents during emergencies, including dangerous situations.   CT Alert ENS is managed by the State Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection.  But the E9-1-1 database includes only traditional wire-line telephone numbers in the state (the “land line” phone you may have in your home).  To sign up mulitple devices, set the order of receipt, or add additional locations click on the link below.

Suffield Alerts

You can also receive alerts within Suffield.  These include emergency alerts and advisory information from the town’s Emergency Management office.    The town should already have your traditional wired home telephone number from the public telephone database.  You can add cell phone and work phone numbers, as well as email addresses.   To sign up, go to http://www.suffieldtownhall.com/alert

ROAD PROJECTS

UPDATE

As part of the Town of Suffield’s pavement management program, road reconstruction including limited drainage improvements will be starting on the following roads: Bridge Street; Suffield Meadow Drive; Phelps Road from Copper Hill Road to 2,500 feet east; and Spruce Street from Hill Street to North Grand Street.  Road work will include recycling existing pavement and base material and installing 3” thick pavement with flat style curbing.  Drainage work will include replacement of some cross culverts, installation of piped drainage and subdrain systems and replacement of existing catch basin tops.  The projects, with a duration of 4 months, are being coordinated through the Town Engineer’s office (860-668-3876).
