Suffield Conference Center sits on 56 pristine acres in the northeast corner of the town overlooking the Connecticut River. This was the site of the former Hendee mansion, "Hilltop Manor". The Redeptorist Fathers purchased the property in 1963 and erected Saint Alphonsus College as a House of Philosophy. It includes a 132,000 square foot college facility with over 100 dormitory rooms, classrooms, a library, gymnasium, pool and auditorium. Today it is home to the Connecticut Culinary Institute .
