Mapleton Hall is home to The Suffield Players , a community theatrical group. Residents and visitors do not have to travel to Broadway to be treated to quality plays and musicals. In a simple building, used for years by the Grange, the stage is brought to life and for a while the audience can escape the real world and sit back and be entertained. The building dates to 1883 and was originally called Central Hall. When Crooked Lane was renamed Mapleton Avenue, Central Hall was renamed Mapleton Hall. For twenty years the Mapleton Hall Association carefully restored the building and preserved it for future generations using volunteer labor and locally raised funds. The Suffield Players purchased it in 1999.
