Quality Public Schools - This is an exciting time for the Suffield Public Schools serving 2300 students. The community is in the midst of a $49 million upgrade to its educational facilities. The new Suffield High School on Sheldon Street, a state-of-the-art facility with a regional Agriscience program, was dedicated September 29, 2002. The old high school is now being renovated and will be the future middle school for grades 6-8. McAlister School, now serving as the town's middle school, is being renovated as an intermediate school for grades 3-5. A quality education is being provided at the town's two other facilities as well, Spaulding Elementary and Bridge Street School. Plans for these two schools include converting Spaulding to PreK-2 and closing Bridge Street. Renovation plans are expected to be completed by 2005.
