SUFFIELD POLICE DEPARTMENT ATV/SNOWMOBILE UNIT
Through a generous gift from the estate of Evelyn Phelps, the Suffield Police Association was able to purchase and fully equip two all-terrain vehicles, a snowmobile, and a trailer to transport them to locations throughout the town. The vehicles will enable the department to more effectively patrol the remote areas within the town and deal with the growing number of complaints involving these types of vehicles. They will also allow Officers to respond to calls for service in areas where a normal patrol vehicle would not be able to access. Officers serving on the ATV Unit have received advanced training in the use and safe operation of the vehicles.
