Voting in Suffield

The November 7 Municipal
Election will be held in the Middle School Gymnasium, 350 Mountain Road, from 6
a.m. to 8 p.m.
Registration (EDR) will be held from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., in the Town Hall, lower
level. Please use rear entrance. EDR is for qualified Suffield residents who
are not registered to vote on Election Day.
They must appear in person and provide the required proof of residence.
The voter registration cutoff date is Tuesday, October 31. The Registrars of Voters Office will be open
from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. for voter registration.
A Special Registration
Session for the admission of any member of the armed forces desiring to be
made an elector, or by any former member of the armed forces discharged
therefrom within the calendar year may register to vote on Monday, November 6,
from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. From 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. the session will include those who become 18 years of age, a citizen or
a resident of Suffield after the October 31 deadline. The session will be held in the Registrars of
Voters Office in the Town Hall, lower level.
Ballot marking may be
done by hand, at a privacy booth, or by a ballot marking system available at
the polls and EDR locations. The,
optional, ballot marking system was designed to make it possible for everyone, even
those with physical disabilities, to vote privately. The system simply marks the ballot for you, after
your candidate selections are made using a tablet, key pad or jelly bean button. The ballot choices are given visually or
audibly, it is the voter’s choice. Election
officials will be available to provide instructions to anyone who would like to
use the system.

There is regular absentee balloting, supervised absentee balloting,
emergency absentee balloting and permanently physically disabled absentee
balloting. For information on absentee voting contact the town clerk at
voting is available for electors who are temporarily physically incapacitated on
Election Day and can get to the polling place parking lot. For more information contact the registrars

Reporting will be available for public viewing on the CT Election Center
Preliminary election results or tabulator tape numbers will be
electronically submitted to the Secretary of the State by midnight Election
Day. These results will be on the
website. Hand counted ballot results
will be added when they are available.
The final results are required to be submitted within 48 hours of the
election. Suffield’s election officials will submit the results as soon as they
