Tree Warden
Suffield - The home of the largest living elm tree in Connecticut.
The Tree Warden helps enhance the beauty of the Suffield community through the planting and care of trees on public land. The Warden works closely with community organizations on landscaping projects throughout town.
Volunteers have assisted the Warden in the inventory of trees along Main Street and on the Town Green. Several Liberty Elm trees have been planted in town over the last two years.
The Warden seeks a state grant each year to help defray the cost of maintaining the tree inventory. Trees have several benefits to a community besides their attractiveness. Trees help provide clean air, cooling, and beneficial sound filtering. The most important function of the Tree Warden is Public Safety.
We are committed to enhance the beauty of Suffield, protecting our valuable trees and keeping the town as safe as possible.
